About Cinema/Chicago Cinema/Chicago is a not for profit, tax exempt cultural and educational organization dedicated to fostering better communication between people of diverse cultures through the art forms of film and video.
We are the parent organization of the annual Chicago International Film Festival, North America's oldest competitive international film festival. We oversee the coordination of its three major festivals: The Chicago International Film Festival INTERCOM -- The Film & Video Competition for Industry Professionals and TV FEST--The Television Production & Commercial Competition
Cinema/Chicago has an active year-round Membership Program with approximately 2,000 individuals who form a loyal core audience to the organization. Members have access to more than 25 free screenings of films and sneak previews each year and many of the members do volunteer work for the organization during the Festival.
Outreach programs to the deaf and hard-of-hearing persons and local high school and jr. high school students are designed to give people who otherwise wouldn't experience an up close and personal film experience.
